About Us
Belong at Home is a local community-based, not-for-profit organisation that provides home and community care support services to older people (over the age of 65 years) so they can continue to live independently and enjoy a quality of life at home for as long as possible.
With our earliest service established in Busselton in 1981, we have been serving the South West for more than 40 years. Managed by a volunteer Management Board, we have offices in Bunbury, Donnybrook, Collie, Busselton, Margaret River and Bridgetown.
Belong at Home (the new trading name for Community Home Care Incorporated from 2023) is committed to providing our clients with reliable and personalised services.
We understand how important it is to maintain independence and wellbeing which is why we focus on providing professional, dependable care and support.
Working together, we can have a positive impact on your ability and self-esteem to manage day to day life.
History
Since our modest beginnings, Belong at Home ( has grown to become one of the leading providers of aged care from our origins of providing Home and Community Care Program (HACC) services across the South West. More than 200 staff and over 300 volunteers throughout the South West region provide dedicated care and support to about 3,000 clients a year across CHSP, Home Care Package and private services.
The inspiration for the foundation of Belong at Home has originated in each of our regions from community volunteers, who saw a need to provide transport and social interaction to the elderly and the disabled to support them in their desire to remain living independently in their homes.
Under our legal name and previous trading name of Community Home Care, we provided services in Bunbury from 1987 until 2011 when we began offering services outside of the Bunbury area following a merger with the Donnybrook/Balingup HACC service.
In 2016 we also began home care services in Collie after merging with Collie HACC and the Collie Adult Day Care Centre. One year later in 2017, we joined with Bridgetown Transport and Meals on Wheels as well as BESS in Busselton and Margaret River, to provide services in six different locations in the South West.
We continue as a not-for-profit community group managed by a voluntary management committee which is elected annually.
Under our new, “umbrella” of Belong at Home, our organisation embraces the rich history and special contributions of each of our sites.
